Purpose Driven to report on International AIDS Conference By PD Staff
With the goal of sharing Christ’s love with participants and gleaning information to share with churches interested in HIV/AIDS ministry, a journalism team from Purpose Driven Ministries will cover this year’s International AIDS Conference, Aug. 13-18, in Toronto.
The team of writers and photographers will post frequent updates to the HIV/AIDS Caring Community Web site, including a blog from Kay Warren, photos, and information regarding the latest research and best practices for treatment. Full coverage of the conference will be included in the September edition of the HIV/AIDS Caring Community.
The International AIDS Conference is organized by the International AIDS Society in cooperation with United Nations agencies and several civil society organizations. It is held every two years in a different city, alternating between the developing and developed world, according to the conference Web site. The last conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The 2008 conference will be in Mexico City.
